Defensive Shooting Fundamentals – Level 1

If you find yourself in a situation where you must defend yourself or your loved ones, be prepared and ready to act. Master the skills needed to prepare and prevail even under the most dangerous of circumstances using intuitive defensive shooting.
In this course, you’ll build the lifesaving foundation skills and thought-processes that you’ll need to understand and apply intuitive defensive shooting and deadly force decision-making. You’ll also begin to train your mind and body to react instinctively, harnessing your natural reactions to respond quickly, decisively, and effectively to a potential threat.
Developed by renowned instructor, author and consultant Rob Pincus of I.C.E. Training, this comprehensive USCCA course provides the opportunity to train in an efficient, realistic, and practical manner for a dynamic critical incident.
THERE IS A PREREQUISITE FOR THIS COURSE.
After registering for the course with us, you must call the USCCA at 1-800-674-9779 and purchase the Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Student e-learning module for this course. It also includes a book for the course. The cost is $30 on top of the course fee. The e-learning MUST be purchased and completed prior to the course date. You will not be able to attend the course if the e-learning is not completed. It will take several hours of online work to complete the e-learning, so be prepared. The information is outstanding.
What is required:
This class is an all-day range course with live fire. It is meant to push and develop skills that are fundamental to intuitive defensive shooting within the context of a defensive shooting scenario. It is challenging but accepts all skill levels. In addition to the e-learning requirement above, the following will be required for this course.
- Semi-automatic handgun that you carry or plan on carrying. If you use a revolver, please contact us before registering so we can understand your skill level with a revolver. Single-action revolvers are not permitted.
- 400 rounds of ammunition
- At least 3 magazines
- Hard holster for your firearm. This can be kydex, or other hard plastic. A rigid leather holster is also acceptable. Nylon or other soft holsters are not permitted. Outside the waistband is preferred for this class but appendix and other inside the waistband holsters are acceptable. We will make some adjustments to an IWB holster for the class. You will be drawing from a holster, so it must be a holster that allows for this. Drop-leg holsters are not recommended unless that is how you always carry your firearm.
- Mag holder that holds 2 magazines on your waistband.
- Rigid belt
- Eye protection
- Ear protection
- Closed-toe shoes
- Notebook and pen/pencil
Weather is factor here in Idaho, we train how we fight and the class will proceed rain or shine; however, if extreme weather is forecasted for the day of the class, we will reach out and ask the class if they want to postpone or continue. Please plan accordingly with comfortable clothes and gear. It is an outdoor range.
